Verubrain is named after the Latin verus — true. This policy is written the same way the product is built: plainly, and without claiming more than is real.

Your account — no email, no password

When you download Verubrain from the Mac App Store, the app proves the download to our server using Apple's cryptographically signed receipt. Your account is an anonymous identifier derived from that receipt. We do not ask for, collect, or store your name, email address, or any password. We cannot see who you are on Apple's side.

What we process

• Your questions and attachments. When you press Think, the app sends to our server exactly this: the text of your question, anything you chose to attach (image, PDF, or audio), the recent conversation turns of the session, and the memories of the project you are in. To generate the answer, that material is passed to our AI processor — currently Anthropic's Claude API — acting under our instructions. The app tells you this and asks your permission before the first question is ever sent — nothing is transmitted until you agree. We do not use your content for advertising and we do not sell it — to anyone, ever. Please never include passwords, card numbers, or ID codes in a question — Verubrain never needs them.
• Memory. Verubrain remembers things you tell it so it can serve you better. These memories are stored on our server, keyed to your account alone, and are recalled only for your own questions. Memory embedding runs locally on our server — memory text is not sent to third-party embedding services.
• Voice input. If you use the microphone, the recording is sent to our server, transcribed to text, and the recording is routinely deleted; the text becomes your question.
• Wallet. Your thinking balance and an auditable record of every charge and top-up. Payments themselves are handled entirely by Apple — we never see card numbers or billing details, only Apple's signed confirmation of a purchase.

What we do not do

• No advertising, no trackers, no analytics SDKs.
• No sale or sharing of personal data.
• No training of AI models on your content by us.
• No reading of your conversations by people, except if you ask for support on a specific problem and share it with us yourself.

Third parties

Two, and only two: Apple (App Store distribution and payments) and our AI processor — currently Anthropic (the Claude API that generates answers). There are no others. If we ever change AI processor, this policy is updated first, before any of your data reaches the new one.

What the AI processor receives is what you send with a question: the question text, your chosen attachments, the session's recent turns, and the project's memories — nothing more, and only when you ask something. Anthropic processes it under their commercial API terms and privacy policy: your content is not used to train their models, is retained only briefly for abuse prevention, and is protected with safeguards equivalent to our own. We share nothing with Anthropic outside this per-question processing.

Retention and deletion

Your memories and conversations persist so Verubrain can keep serving you. You can delete any project — and its memory — inside the app at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, email support@verubrain.com from within the app's support flow and we will remove it within 30 days.

Security

All traffic between the app and our server uses TLS. Money files are private to the service and every wallet movement is written to an append-only ledger so tampering is detectable. The app's local data on your Mac is encrypted at rest with a key held in your Keychain.

Children

Verubrain is not directed at children under 13 and should not be used by them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date. We will not quietly weaken it.
